In my black and white film photography, I explore the impact of technology on our collective human experience. Through film photography, I capture the contemporary thoughts surrounding isolation, dynamism, speed, and technology. These ideas were previously studied and observed by the Italian futurists. The Italian futurists were influenced by the creation of transportation and housing technological advancements which created a shift in everyday lives. In 2024 I am focusing on the advancements of artificial intelligence and products such as self-driving cars and apple vision pros which will create a new shift in the way we live our lives. This body of work was inspired by my research of technology in the art education field, reflecting on the way technology both engages and isolates us. In k-12, artificial intelligence and the apple ecosystem have already paved their way into changing the course of pedagogy. In this series, I invite viewers to consider the conflicting beauty of a world where technological progression is both a blessing and a challenge. Is it the sleekness and convenience or isolation that we are attracted towards?
